GÖKYÜZÜ GREEN LANES

Gökyüzü Green Lanes has been owned and run by the Yavuz family since 1999, when the doors first opened to the Haringey public.

Originating from a small village in Kahramanmaras, an area near Gaziantep in Turkey, they arrived in the UK in the 90s, where they longed for authentic Turkish food from their homeland. In an area abundant with Turkish restaurants and cafés, they wanted to show the people of London what Turkish dining is really about: freshness, quality ingredients, delicately flavoured dishes, succulent meats expertly char-grilled, home-baked bread, and most of all, a very warm welcome. Gökyüzü was born.

In the beginning, the parents and an uncle did all the cooking. The next generation was taught their favourite dishes and recipes once made in their Grandparents kitchens. Meanwhile, they set out to find the best local suppliers to ensure that all the ingredients were of the best quality possible. They still use many of those very same suppliers to this day.

As a family business, the Gökyüzü way of doing things with warmth and generosity were instilled into the front of house staff. All the chefs were carefully selected to bring you, the customer, an exceptional eatıng experience. Nothing is too much trouble in Gökyüzü. Customers are guests: just as they would be in our home.
